Change a Skill Rating Visibility Setting
You can control the visibility of your completed Skill Ratings and publicly share them with other learners who view your profile.
If you do not have the option to change your Skill Rating visibility setting, your organization has set all your Skill Ratings to be Private and removed the option to make your ratings Public.
Important Information
- Skill Ratings are Private by default. You must manually change the setting to be Public.
- You must change the visibility setting for each Skill Rating; you cannot globally change all of your Skill Reviews.
- You can leave a completed Skill Rating as Private, or, if you want the Skill Rating to be seen by others in your organization, you can set it to Public.
- If you have opted-in to Skill Coach, the Skill Rating visibility options are Limited Visibility and Public. If you select Limited Visibility, your Self Rating is visible to you and your manager. See Skill Coach Overview for Learners for more information about managing your Skill Coach enrollment.
Visibility Indicators on Skill Cards
When a Skill Rating is set to Private or Limited Visibility, an icon () displays on the Skill card.
When a Skill Rating is Public, no icon displays on the Skill card.
To Change your Skill Rating Visibility
- Open the Skills tab on your profile page:
From the top of any page in Degreed, click Profile > Skills.

On the Home page, from the navigation panel, click Manage Skills.
The Skills page opens, and the Grid View displays by default. - Locate a rated skill.
- Click the Skill card.
A dialog box displays with the available Skill Rating Types. - Click the visibility setting drop down.
- Select the desired rating visibility.
- Click Done.
The Skill Rating visibility setting updates immediately.
