Add or Update a Skill Rating
On your profile's Skills tab, you can add and update your Skill Ratings using the Grid View or List View.
To Add or Update a Skill Rating (Grid View)
- Open the Skills page on your profile page:
From the top of any page in Degreed, click Profile > Skills.
- or -
On the Home page, from the navigation panel, click Manage Skills.
The Skills page opens, and the Grid View displays by default. - Locate the skill for which you want to add or update a Skill Rating.
- Add a new Skill Rating:
- On the Skill card, click + Add Rating.
- Select the Skill Rating Type you want to add.
- Follow the prompts.
If you add a Self Rating, the Skill Rating updates immediately. If you request a Manager Rating, the Skill Rating updates once the manager submits their rating. If you request a Peer Rating, the Skill Rating updates once the peer submits their rating. If you begin a Skill Review, the rating updates to In Progress. See Skill Rating Types for more information.
- On the Skill card, click + Add Rating.
- Update an existing Skill Rating:
- On the Skill card, click Update Rating.
The skill rating level name that corresponds with the level number (for example, "Effective") is derived from Degreed’s eight-level framework. - Follow the prompts.
If you add a Self Rating, the Skill Rating updates immediately. If you request a Manager Rating, the Skill Rating updates once the manager submits their rating. If you begin a Skill Review, the rating updates to In Progress. See Skill Rating Types for more information.
- On the Skill card, click Update Rating.
To Add or Update a Skill Rating in List View
- Open the Skills page on your profile page:
From the top of any page in Degreed, click Profile > Skills.
- or -
On the Home page, from the navigation panel, click Manage Skills.
The Skills page opens, and the Grid View displays by default. - Click > List.
Your skills display in a list. - Locate the skill for which you want to add or update a Skill Rating.
- Add a new Skill Rating:
- Click in the column of the Skill Rating Type you want to add to the skill.
- Follow the prompts.
If you update a Self Rating, the Skill Rating updates immediately. If you request a Manager Rating, the Skill Rating updates once the manager submits their rating. If you request a Peer Rating, the Skill Rating updates once the peer submits their rating. If you begin a Skill Review, the rating updates to In Progress. See Skill Rating Types for more information.

- Click the circle with the current rating number (for example, ).
- Follow the prompts.
