Add Content to your Profile

You can add content items, achievements, and experiences to your Degreed profile. The added content becomes available on the Collections page in your Profile, and the associated skills are available on the Skills page.

Your organization can set up automatic imports of completed content from selected providers, including PluralSight, Pocket, and more. You must have specific permissions in Degreed to set up integrations. For more information, see Degreed Integrations.

Ways to Add Content Items to your Profile

Use the following steps to add learning content you found outside of Degreed to your profile.

To Add a New Content Item Using Add to Profile (Global Add)

1. In the Degreed header, click + Add Content.
   The Add to Profile dialog box displays.
2. In the Add Content to Your Profile section, click the content type that best describes the content you want to add.
   

To Add a Content Item on the Profile Overview Page

1. From the side navigation menu, select Profile > Overview.
   The Overview page in your profile displays.
2. Scroll to the Learning section.
3. Select the corresponding Add Learning.
   
4. Select the content type to add to your profile.

To Add a Content Item on the Profile Collection Page

1. From the side navigation menu, select Profile > Collection.
   The Collection page in your profile displays.
2. Select the Learning focus filter option.
3. Click Add.
   
4. Select the content type you would like to add to your profile.

Skill Suggestions

If your organization enables Skill Suggestions, skills are inferred from the Title and Description fields, when adding an article or video. Skills are only suggested if the Title and Description fields are derived from meta data included in the article or video. Adding your own text to these fields or uploading a hosted file does not trigger the process to check for a match.

The suggested skills displays under the Skills field on the Add Content Details modals.

If Skill Suggestions is disabled, or the content type is not supported, no skills display here.

Content Types to Add to your Profile

Articles

Add Article Details

1. Enter the URL for the article you want to add.
2. Click Next.
3. Verify the Title. Edit if needed.
4. The Source field will be auto-filled. Update if necessary.
5. Use the Description field to provide a brief overview of the article.
6. Optionally, add a Comment to share your thoughts with others in your organization.
7. Enter the estimated Time to Complete (Hours/Minutes).
8. Search and assign a Content Owner if applicable. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.
9. Upload or confirm the Image for the article.
   See Image Size Requirements for image specifications if uploading a new image.
10. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the article. You can also select from available suggestions.
11. Click Save Article.

This article is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Books

Add a Book Details

1. Enter the Title of the book you want to add. Select the book from the search library, and click Next.
2. Enter the date the book was completed.
3. Length of the book is auto filled based on your selection. 
4. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the book. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
5. Click Save Book.

This book is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Videos

Add Video Details

1. Enter the URL for the video you want to add.
2. Click Next. Depending on the URL entered, some fields may auto-populate.
3. Verify the Title. Edit if needed.
4. The Source field will be auto-filled. Update if necessary.
5. The Description field is auto-filled. Edit if required.
6. Optionally, add a Comment to share your thoughts with others in your organization.
7. The estimated Time to Complete is auto-filled. Update the time if necessary.
8. Assign a Content Owner if applicable. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.
9. Upload or confirm the Image for the video.

10. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the video. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
11. Click Save Video.

This video is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Courses

Add Course Details

Course from an accredited college or university:

1. Search and select the Country the college/university is located.
2. Search and select the School Name.
3. Enter the Course Title.
4. If available, enter the Course Number and Credit Hours.
5. Select the Course Level from the dropdown menu.
6. Select the Course Grade from the dropdown menu.
7. Choose the Date Completed using the date picker.
8. Provide a Verification URL (if available)
9. Add a Comment to describe the course or include any additional notes.

10. Optionally, Search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.

11. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the course. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
12. Click Save Course.

Course from an informal course provider:

1. Enter the Provider Name for this course.
2. Enter the Course Title.
3. Provide the URL the course is hosted on.
4. Enter a Description for this course.
5. Indicate how many hours the course was.
6. Select the Date Completed using the date picker.
7. Provide a Verification URL if available
8. Enter the estimated Time to Complete in Hours and Minutes.

9. Optionally, search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.

10. Optionally, upload the Course Image.

11. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the course. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
12. Click Save Course.

This course is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Podcasts

Add Podcast Details

1. Enter Podcast name, or partial name. A list of related Podcasts Series displays.
2. Select a Podcast Series from the list, and click Next.
3. If available, select an Episode for the podcast.
4. Select the date you completed the podcast.
5. Indicate the Podcast Length in hours and minutes. If the episode is available for selection, this field auto-fills.
6. Optionally, search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.
7. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the podcast. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
8. Click Save Podcast.

If adding a podcast URL:

1. Enter the Podcast URL, and click Next.
2. Enter the podcast's Title.
3. Select the date you completed the podcast.
4. Enter the Hours and Minutes for the podcast length.
5. Enter a Description.
6. Optionally, search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content.
7. Optionally, upload the Podcast Image.

8. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the podcast. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
9. Click Save Podcast.

This podcast episode is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Events

Add Event Details

1. Enter the link to the Event Website.
2. Enter the Title of the event.
3. Select the Date Attended.
4. Select your Role at the event from the options: Attendee, Panelist, Presenter, or Keynote.

5. Enter the Hours and Minutes for the event length.

6. Add a Description of what the event is about.
7. Optionally, search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content
8. Optionally, upload the Event Image.

9. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the podcast. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
10. Click Save Event.

This event is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Assessments

Add Assessment Details

1. Enter the Assessment URL.
2. Enter the Title of the assessment.
3. Enter the name of the Provider.
4. Add a Description of what the assessment is about.
5. Indicate the total number of questions.
6. Indicate how many questions you answered correctly for this assessment.
7. Provide the score percentile, if applicable.
8. Select the date the assessment was completed.
9. Optionally, search and assign a Content Owner. A content owner is responsible for maintaining the content
10. Optionally, upload the Assessment Image.

11. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the assessment. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
12. Click Save Assessment.

This assessment is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.
