Experiences help shape an individual's skill journey. You are able to specify different experience types to provide a more comprehensive profile that details a clearer understanding of your learning journey.

Ways to Add Experiences to your Profile

There are multiple ways to add an Experience to your learning profile. After you access the Add Experience modal, select an Experience Type and provide the necessary details to define your experience.

To Add an Experience Using Add to Profile (Global Add)

1. At the top of the page, click + Add Content.
   The Add to your Profile dialog box displays.
   
2. Click Experience.

To Add an Experience on the Profile Overview Page

1. From the side navigation menu, select Profile > Overview.
   The Overview page in your profile displays.
2. Scroll to the Experiences section.
3. Select the corresponding Add.
   
4. Select the experience type to add to your profile.

To Add an Experience on the Profile Collection Page

1. From the side navigation menu, select Profile > Collection.
   The Collection page in your profile displays.
2. Select the Experience focus filter option.
3. Click Add.
   
4. Select the experience type to add to your profile.

Skill Suggestions

If your organization enables Skills Suggestions, skills are inferred from fields such as Title and Description, when adding an experience to your Profile.

The suggested skills displays under the Skills field on the Add Experience Type Details modals.

If Skill Suggestions is disabled, no skills display here and all skills must be manually added.

Experience Types

Job Role

A job role is typically a paid position of employment.

Add a Job Role

1. In the Type dropdown, select Job Role.
2. Enter the Title for the job role position.
3. Specify the Company or Organization for the job role. 
4. If you are currently in this job role, select the This is my current position checkbox.
   The End Date field is hidden.
5. Provide a Start Date and End Date (if applicable) for this job role.
6. Indicate the number of hours you worked per week in this job role.
7. Select a Seniority from the provided dropdown.
8. Provide a brief Description of the job role and responsibilities. 
9. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the job role. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
10. Click Save Experience.

This job role is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Project

Projects are individual or collaborative tasks that achieve a particular objective or goal.

Add a Project

1. In the Type dropdown, select Project.
2. Enter a Title for the project.
3. Specify the Company or Organization the project was for. 
4. Provide a Start Date and End Date for this project.
5. Indicate the number of hours you worked per week on this project.
6. Select a Seniority (if applicable) from the provided dropdown.
7. Provide a brief Description of the project. 
8. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the project. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
9. Click Save Experience.

This project is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Mentorship

A mentorship is an experience in which you provided guidance to an individual. 

Add a Mentorship

1. In the Type dropdown, select Mentorship.
2. Enter a Title for the mentorship.
3. Enter the name of the person you mentored in the Mentee field.
4. Specify the Company or Organization the mentorship took place. 
5. Provide a Start Date and End Date for this mentorship.
6. Indicate the number of Hours per Week you participated in the mentorship.
7. Select a Seniority from the provided dropdown that best describes your mentorship.
8. Provide a brief Description of the mentorship. 
9. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the mentorship. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
10. Click Save Experience.

This mentorship is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Menteeship

A menteeship is an experience in which you received guidance from a mentor.

Add a Menteeship

1. In the Type dropdown, select Menteeship.
2. Enter a Title for the menteeship.
3. Enter the name of the person who mentored you in the Mentor field.
4. Specify the Company or Organization the menteeship took place. 
5. Provide a Start Date and End Date for this menteeship.
6. Indicate the number of Hours per Week you participated in this menteeship.
7. Select a Seniority from the provided dropdown that best describes your menteeship.
8. Provide a brief Description of the menteeship. 
9. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the menteeship. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
10. Click Save Experience.

This menteeship is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Shadowing

A shadowing experience entails observing an individual or group closely.

Add a Shadowing Experience

1. In the Type dropdown, select Shadowing.
2. Enter a Title for this shadowing experience.
3. Specify the Company or Organization the shadowing took place. 
4. Provide a Start Date and End Date for this shadowing.
5. Indicate the number of hours per week you shadowed.
6. Select a Seniority (if applicable) from the provided dropdown.
7. Provide a brief Description of the shadowing experience. 
8. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the shadowing experience. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
9. Click Save Experience.

This shadowing experience is added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.

Stretch Assignments

A stretch assignment is a project or task that is currently beyond your level of knowledge or skill.

Add a Stretch Assignment

1. In the Type dropdown, select Stretch Assignment.
2. Enter a Title for the stretch assignment.
3. Specify the Company or Organization the stretch assignment was for. 
4. Provide a Start Date and End Date for this stretch assignment.
5. Indicate the number of hours you worked per week on this stretch assignment.
6. Select a Seniority (if applicable) from the provided dropdown.
7. Provide a brief Description of the stretch assignment. 
8. Use the Skills field to list skills associated with the stretch assignment. Skills can also be available for selection under this field.
9. Click Save Experience.

This stretch assignment is now added to your profile, and Degreed points are calculated and added to your score.
