About Org-managed Plans and Pathways
When adding a Pathway to a plan, whether or not the Plan and the Pathway are org-managed effects which Pathways are included in search results.
The Plan is Org-managed
If the Plan you are adding a Pathway to is org-managed, Search will only return org-managed Pathways. This includes all Pathways in your organization that are org-managed.
Search excludes all Pathways that are not org-managed, including Pathways you authored.
Example
- You create two Pathways, one titled Developing Management Skills and one titled Developing Leadership Skills.
- In the Developing Management Skills Pathway, you set the visibility to "Visible to Groups."
- This Pathway is org-managed.
- In the Developing Leadership Skills Pathway, you set the visibility to "Private to Collaborators", and none of the content you add is org-managed.
- This Pathway is not org-managed.
- Next, you create a Plan titled Upward Mobility in the Workforce. You add org-managed content to the Plan and save it.
- The Plan is org-managed.
- You decide to add both your Pathways to the Plan.
- You search for the Pathways from within the Plan and discover:
- Search includes the Developing Management Skills Pathway. Because both the Plan and the Pathway are org-managed, you can see this Pathway in the results and add it to your Plan.
- Search does not include the Developing Leadership Skills Pathway. Because the Plan is org-managed and the Pathway is not org-managed, the Pathway is not included.
Workaround: To add the Developing Leadership Skills Pathway to the Upward Mobility in the Workforce Plan, locate the Pathway card and use the Actions menu to add the Pathway to the Plan.
The Plan is not Org-managed
If the Plan you are adding a Pathway to is not org-managed, Search only returns your Pathways that are not org-managed. Any Pathways you authored that are org-managed are not included in the results.
- Next, you create a Plan titled Managing and Leading People. You set the visibility to "Private to Collaborators" and you do not add any org-managed content to the Plan.
- This Plan is not org-managed.
- You decide to add both your Pathways to the Plan.
- You search for the Pathways from within the Plan and discover:
- The Developing Management Skills Pathway is not in the search results. Because the Plan is not org-managed, and the Pathway is org-managed, the Pathway is not included in Search.
- Search includes the Developing Leadership Skills Pathway. Because the Plan is not org-managed, the Pathway is also not org-managed, and you are the author of the Pathway, this Pathway is included in the search results.
Workaround: To add the Developing Management Skills Pathway to the Managing and Leading People Plan, locate the Pathway card and use the Actions menu to add the Pathway to the Plan.
