Plans Overview
What are Plans?
A Plan is a collection of relevant Skills, Pathways, Groups, People, and learning content items that can help learners improve their skills in their current positions, or prepare them for new roles (including promotions and career shifts).
Plan Purpose
When creating a Plan, you determine if the Plan's Purpose is to help you or your learners improve a specific skill (Skill Plan), or prepare for a specific job role (Role Plan).
Why are They Useful?
Plans allow you to curate a collection of resources related to a specific skill or to a specific job role. For example you can:
- Create a Plan designed around a skill your organization needs in order to offer new features to your clients, or to add a new tool to your work flow.
- Create a Plan focused on a new role your organization may need in order to foster your company's innovation and growth.
Plan Visibility Settings
Visibility settings determine who can see and access your Plan. Plans can be visible only to:
- Authors and collaborators only
- Groups within your organization
- Your entire organization
You can set the visibility when you create the Plan, and you can edit the setting at any time.
Plan FAQs
When I follow a Plan, can I follow the Plans within the main Plan?
No. Plans do not display as an option in the Following a Plan dialog box, because they cannot be followed.
Why does the number of followers for a Plan in the Followers tab differ from the number in the Insights tab?
The Plan Followers tab does not show or count users with a private profile. Use the Plan Insights tab to see all followers including private users. For more information about profile visibility, see Change your Profile Visibility.
When I follow a Plan and the Pathways within it, why doesn’t the checkmark showing I’m following the Pathway appear?
When you click Follow Plan and you are enrolled in a Pathway within the Plan, the checkmark that indicates you are following the Pathway does not immediately appear in the Plan because the page doesn't refresh automatically. After you click Follow Plan, refresh the page. The checkmark will now indicate that you are following the Pathway.
Why are my changes not saved when removing collaborators from a Plan?
Not all collaborators can be removed at once. At least one collaborator must remain on a Plan to ensure someone is responsible for the content. If the only collaborator of a Plan is no longer part of the organization, or moved on to another role, either delete the Plan or add someone else as a collaborator instead.
