Skill Signals Overview for Learners
What are Skill Signals?
Skill Signals are indicators of all of the Degreed-recorded activity related to a specific skill. Skill Signals help you understand all of your skill-related activity. Skill Signals can also help visitors to your profile understand your skill-related activity and expertise, for potential use by managers, in Opportunity selection (if enabled for organization), subject matter expert identification, and more.
Skill Signals only display for skills that you have added to your profile.
Skill Signals include:

Skill Ratings, including:
- Self Ratings
- Manager Ratings
- Peer Ratings
- Skill Reviews
- Third-party ratings (for example, Pluralsight Skill IQ)

Learning items that are:
- associated to skills, and are marked complete, or
- associated to skills, and inside of a Pathway, and are marked complete
- Articles
- Podcasts
- Videos
- Books
- Courses
- Events
- Assessments
- Tasks

Achievements that are associated to skills, and are marked complete, such as:
- Accomplishments
- Awards
- Badges
- Certificates
- Degrees
- Experiences that are associated to skills
- Opportunities that are associated to skills
