Summary
On April 8, we experienced a temporary degradation in search performance. Some users encountered slower response times or intermittent issues, while others were not impacted. The issue was identified quickly, and mitigation steps were put in place to limit user impact and restore performance.
Root Cause
The degradation was caused by elevated load on our search infrastructure, which reduced its ability to consistently process search requests at normal speed.
Resolution
Our team implemented a series of mitigation measures to reduce system load and stabilize performance. Search functionality was fully restored. Following stabilization, background processes were gradually reintroduced in a controlled manner to ensure continued system stability.
Preventative Measures
To reduce the likelihood of recurrence, we are taking the following steps:
- Increasing system capacity to better handle periods of high demand
- Enhancing monitoring and alerting for earlier detection and response
- Further optimizing search performance and system efficiency
- Continuing to work with our infrastructure partners to strengthen overall resilience
