LinkedIn Learning In-App Integration

Degreed integrates with LinkedIn Learning with the following options in In-App Integrations:

• Content Connector
• Completions via Experience API (xAPI)
• Single Sign-on (SSO)

Content Connector

To Configure a Content Connector

Permissions may be required to access some pages in Degreed or perform specific tasks. For more information, see Permissions in Degreed.

Required Permission: Manage Integrations

1. Generate a Client ID and Client Secret from LinkedIn Learning. For instructions, see LinkedIn Learning and Degreed Deep Integration Guide - Provision API Keys for Content Catalog Sync.
2. From the side menu in Degreed Admin, click Integrations > Directory.
   The Degreed Integrations Directory opens in a new window.
3. Locate LinkedIn Learning and click Enable.
   The LinkedIn Learning page displays on the Integrations page.
4. Under Connectors, click the + Connect button for Content.
   The Add Content Connector dialog box displays.
   
5. Enter the Client ID generated from LinkedIn Learning.
6. Enter the Client Secret generated from LinkedIn Learning.
7. Select the languages you want to sync.
   If your LinkedIn Learning agreement only includes English, you will only see English even if you choose other languages.
8. Enter the Enterprise Account ID.
9. Click Verify.
10. Click Save Changes.

Allow 24 hours for content to sync. Content syncs nightly.

Completions via xAPI

To Configure Completions via xAPI

Permissions may be required to access some pages in Degreed or perform specific tasks. For more information, see Permissions in Degreed.

Required Permission: Manage Integrations

1. From the side menu in Degreed Admin, click Integrations > Directory.
   The Degreed Integrations Directory opens in a new window.
2. Locate LinkedIn Learning and click Install.
   The LinkedIn Learning page displays on the Integrations page.
3. Click + Generate API Key.
   The Create New API Key dialog box displays.
   
4. Enter a unique name for the key.
5. In the Scopes section, select the xAPI Read and Write checkboxes.
6. Click Save.
   The API Key is created and the Client ID and Client Secret displays.
7. Copy the secret.
8. Click Done.
9. Enter the generated keys in LinkedIn Learning. For instructions, see LinkedIn Learning and Degreed Deep Integration Guide - Enable xAPI Learner Activity Tracking in LinkedIn Learning.

Completions are real-time and only report against courses. Completions do not report on the video level.

SSO

A secure SAML SSO connection can be enabled between Degreed and LinkedIn Learning to ensure seamless access to content. For more information, see The SSO Tab.

After your Technical Services representative configures SSO on Degreed, a LinkedIn Learning Admin must upload Degreed’s metadata (provided by Degreed) to LinkedIn Learning. Refer to the LinkedIn Learning instructions for more information.
