Importing Credly Badges into Degreed
Client-issued Credly Badge Import into Degreed Profiles
- Clients who issue their digital credentials on the Credly Acclaim platform can publish (import) their badges into earners’ Degreed profiles.
- All client-issued badges are tagged for import. Badges are automatically imported on the following conditions:
- The badge must be accepted by the earner.
- The badge is public, meaning the earner has not set the badge as private and thus not visible on their Credly dashboard.
- Any private or restricted badges issued by the client are imported.
Only badges issued by the client will be imported. All other badges (industry certifications, certificates from other issuers or employers, etc) are not imported unless the Client is subscribed to Credly Connect. - Earners are still able to access and manage their digital badges on Credly’s Acclaim platform.
- Documentation will be provided to clients to set up the integration.
- Their Credly Customer Success Manager will work with them to identify badge templates to import.
- Their Degreed Technical Success Manager will help them set up the integration.

Add a Credly Badge to a Degreed Pathway
You can add a Credly badge to Degreed Pathway that is issued to users when they complete it.
To add a badge to a Pathway
- A badge must be created in Credly. When the badge is created, the Badge UUID will appear. The Badge UUID must be added to Degreed.
- In Degreed, create the Pathway or locate the Pathway the badge is intended for. For more information on Pathways, see Pathways Overview.
- Open the Pathway settings.
- Click the Eligible for badge upon completion checkbox. The field Badge UUID displays.
- Type or copy and paste the Credly Badge UUID in the field.
- Click Save.
After a user completes the Pathway, and the Pathway shows 100% complete, the badge is issued to the user within 24 hours.
Criteria for granting a pathway's Badge
For a pathway badge to be issued successfully:
- The pathway must have enabled Badge issuing (Eligible for badge upon completion setting)
- Credly's Template ID (known in Degreed as the Credly Badge UUID) must be added to the pathway
- The pathway must be org-managed. For more information, visit the article About Org-managed Content
- The user must be following the pathway (unfollowing and then following the pathway can re-trigger Badge creation)
The minimum waiting time for a badge to be created is 24 hours, as the integration only runs once at specific times.
The Notification Process
- When the Pathway is 100% complete, the user receives an email notification from Credly that they were issued a badge on the Credly platform. For example, if five items are in the Pathway, the badge is issued when the five items are completed. If a sixth item is added after the badge is issued, the badge is still awarded to the user.
- Earners will get a Credly issued email notification of an earned badge.
- If earners do not yet have a Credly account, they will be prompted to set a password, verify their email, and then accept the badge on the Credly website.
- The earner may set their Credly account to automatically accept all future badges.
- From their account page, the user can share the badge or modify the badge’s privacy settings.
- After the badge has been accepted, the badge will be visible on the user’s Degreed profile within 24 hours after the user accepts the badge.
Currently, Pathways are not searchable by an associated Credly badge.
