The Direct Data Connector provides organizations with the ability to directly access the data warehouse tables that are used to create In-app Reports.
Through a secure Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection, users can query and export reporting data in order to import the data to their own ecosystem.

- Join Degreed data with your other HR related data sets
- Replace the need to continually create custom reports
What do I Need in Order to Successfully Use the Direct Data Connector Feature?
Organizations who want to use this feature, need:
- An ODBC connection interface *
- Access to a data warehouse and business intelligence (data visualization) tools
- Team members with SQL and Python experience who can create queries to extract, transform, and load the data
- Business Insight Analysts who can interpret, analyze and present the data
*Degreed will supply the necessary credentials via 1Password, and will implement a password update policy to ensure compliance.
If your organization is interested in the Direct Data Connector feature, you can request access through the standard internal ticketing process.
How do I Access the Data?
Data is extracted from the tables, and fields within the tables, via SQL queries sent over an ODBC connection. The In-app Report Definition articles provide the Direct Access table and column names needed for your queries.
For most reports, all field names have a corresponding column name. However, for some reports, the data is aggregated at run time and derived from a different table. There may not be a corresponding field name for each report column name.
For example, most data in the Skill (Summary) by Skill report is derived from the Skill (Details) by User report and aggregated into a summary value when the query runs. The table and field names used for these values is indicated, where applicable. Additionally, summary data in these tables can be aggregated with the standard sum, count, or average query statements.
